How Can You Make Money Sharing Stuff on Social Media?

I'd like to share a site that I'm finding is fun and easy to use. MyLikes is a site that lets you make money from sharing stuff.

You need to have 1) a social media account with lots of fans/followers/likes and 2) a paypal account.

There are two ways you can work this. You can use twitter by tweeting the ones that say "tweet" beside it or you can use the ones that say Web by copying and pasting the link into your social media accounts - that includes Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Tumblr.

Now, the key to making some actual money with this is that you have to share lots. Each share only gets a small amount of exposure to people (unless you have a massive Facebook Page). So the more you share the more you make.

Some of them are obvious ads while others are fun and interesting posts like this:

Can you spot the terrible photoshop mistakes in these pictures? http://bit.ly/1cwBaj4

It's not going to make you rich but an extra $10 a month adds up. SOME people make hundreds a day!

So, if this sounds interesting to you, give it a try.

SwagBucks - the Search Engine You Can Earn With

Ok - who is using SwagBucks as their search engine? Why? Because you can earn $$$$!  Well, if you're not signed up already start here: http://swagbucks.com/refer/cushk

Now how do you earn? Well, first and foremost, make sure that SwagBucks is your default search engine because for every search you do you could win SwagBucks. As little as a few up to $50 or even more (that's the most I've gotten on a search).

But that's not all. You can earn SwagBucks by shopping. Do you shop online at all? I know I do. I buy a lot of ebooks at Kindle. I buy stuff at Amazon.ca. And if you enter the store through your SwagBucks links you earn more SwagBucks for every dollar you spend. And there are lots of stores to choose from like Walmart, Sears, Bath and Body, etc.

Ok, so I'm not done yet. You can do surveys, watch videos, do a daily poll, play games, and a whole bunch of stuff. Now, you don't want to sit around all day long doing this stuff but if you have five minutes, watch a video or something. Over time it adds up. I'm really close to cashing out with $50 in PayPal. You can also cash out by getting an Amazon.ca gift card or a whole bunch of other stuff.

It's fun and easy and you can do it when you have a few minutes.

Tellwut - Easy Surveys, Get Gift Cards

I discovered Tellwut about a year ago and I finally got my mom to sign up for this one.  I like this one for surveys because you can just do a short survey or two when you have a few minutes to spare.  You don't have to go through the process of finding out if you qualify for the survey because everyone qualifies for the surveys.

Join tellwut - click the picture!
You can start doing easy surveys right away.  Each survey is worth 5 or 10 points and takes no more than 30 seconds to do.  Once you have enough points you can cash out for gift cards.  My favorite is the Amazon gift cards (.com or .ca) because you can buy so much at Amazon.  I save them up for when I want things or for holidays. But you can also get gift cards for Best Buy and other retail stores.

Time to Wake This Place Up!

Hey all,

I've been pretty absent for awhile lately but I think I am going to take a stab at reviving this site a bit.  Part of the reason I'm doing that is because I'm going to start looking into other ways to make money online besides just writing. I will be still writing and talking about residual income sites where you can write but I'll be adding things like survey sites and email sites, too. Why?

Well, my mom is in her 60s and she's living on her senior's income now (in Canada that's about $1400 a month) and she's finding it pretty tough to make ends meet sometimes. Especially if she ever wants to do things like buy an ebook to read or whatever.  So, I'm going to try and help her get going on making a bit of money online doing things that are pretty easy.

I figure this is a good place to maybe talk about those things.

I know there are a lot of people that want to learn how to do these things so I'm going to try to help here.

If there's something in particular that you want me to look into please leave me a comment!

Income Report - October 2013

or01Seriously - where did October go?  I must be getting old or something because time seems to just fly by these days.  I mean,  really - my kids are growing up - one of them moved out with a child of her own (ya, I'm a grandma!) and the other is going to be 18 in two years!  I've been working from home for more than 3 years now.  And 2013 is almost over!  Crazy.
Before I get onto the income report, check out the picture that I had made for me on Fiverr ----->
I don't think it really looks like me but it makes me laugh. :)
Ok - let's talk money...

1. Bubblews

I made a whopping 50 posts on Bubblews this month. You'd think that would make a huge increase - or at least noticeable - over last month since I only did 19 in September right?  Nope. It stayed almost exactly the same!  Off by just pennies!  Bizarre hey?  I guess I know now that the majority of my income from Bubblews is coming from older stuff, not the new stuff that I put up.  I'm not sure what that means for future writing. Will I post more?  Or less?  I don't know.  I'll have to think about that.  As long as I keep getting paid!  Oh, how much did I make? $153.48
Oh!  Before I forget, if you're newish to Bubblews, I actually released an ebook about it!  Yes, there's a Bubblews guidebook/FAQ now! It's totally unofficial but I've been there a year and I'm still there so I guess I must know a thing or two right? If you'd like to check it out you can find The Lost (& Unofficial) Bubblews FAQ on Amazon.
Earnings: $153.48

2. Adsense

Well, here's a shocker - Adsense STILL sucks!  Even more than it did last month! I don't even know if I want to bother with it anymore.  Except for the YouTube stuff.  But here's my Adsense earnings:
Earnings: $3.09!!!

3. YouTube

Again, YouTube is an estimate because the amount that is in the dashboard of Adsense and the amounts that are on YouTube analytics are usually a little different and what I actually end up getting is somewhere in between the two.  But this estimate is pretty close.
Earnings (estimated): $9.09

4.  InfoBarrel

Do I really have to report this?  I mean really, it's just so pathetic.  But I guess I will...
Earnings: $0.40

5. Ebooks

Great month on Ebooks this month!  Love it when a new book does well.  I released a new ebook and it got NINE 5 star reviews!  And I swear to goodness, not one of them was solicited, traded for, bought, or anything sneaky like that. All genuine!  Oh, that's not money though is it?  Ok...$17? I have to estimate because a handful of books aren't showing on my report yet.  Should be able to see them tomorrow I think.  I'll update then.
Earnings: $20.96

6. Amazon

Wow - another site that is almost exactly the same (last month was $2.47)!  LOL - odd.  Nothing overly exciting here this month...
Earnings $2.57

7. Squidoo

Again!  Almost the same as last month ($4.79) - nothing exciting. I haven't really been doing too much at Squidoo.  I did make a couple of new lenses earlier in the month and one of them has made a sale.  Will I do more? Hmmm - maybe.
Earnings: $4.26

8. LOLSpots/MyLikes

Slow month over at the FB pages this month.  Facebook has been really messing with the algorithms and I just don't care enough to think about it too much.  So, still earning but minimal
Earnings: $0.57

9. My Writing Site

Advertising was good this month on my writing site.  I got paid for two ads this month.  And I have been posting more.  I'm actually considering moving THIS site's content over there because I can't keep up to all of my sites!
Earnings (not counting Adsense): $80

My Own Residual Earning Site

Don't forget to check out my revenue share sites:  Writedge and My Two Cents.

Grand Total:

$279.42 (an increase from $ 240.30 last month)

Future Stuff

I plan on putting a lot more effort into ebook writing in the future.  For October I'm participating in Nanowrimo and I'm hoping to put out TWO 30,000 word ebooks.  Plus, I bought new covers for 9 of my ebooks in October and I'm impatiently waiting for them to start being visible on Kindle but a friend that has been advising me SWEARS that the new covers are going to increase my sales.  I've completely revamped my author site and I finally got my first email subscriber!
I also launched a new blog but I have no idea if I have the time to keep up with it or not.  I might try to figure out a way to get someone else to add content!

Income Report - September 2013

I haven't done an income report since June!  Wow - I really should keep up with this because it helps me figure out how well I am doing.
Before I get on to the income report, I'll tell you a little bit about what I've been doing.
First, I haven't been writing at Bubblews nearly as much as I was in June.  I'm just frustrated because in July payments went missing and I've been having a hard time getting them. And one of my friends had her account closed and they won't tell her why.  And it really drives me crazy.  I think that it is a really unethical way of doing business.  But, that being said, you'll notice there are still earnings there from September.  I have no backbone. :(
Second, I have decided to give the whole blog thing another try.  A new blog with new content.  And I really want to try to do it right. I'm not sure why I'm doing this.  I have let a couple of blogs go to make room for this new one.  I just started it and my goal is to update it twice a week and focus on good content and social media. I mean really, there's not much more that you can do these days since everything else we used to do is breaking rules!  I'll see what happens with it though.
What else? Not much.  I got a few more ebooks out and I really want to do more but I have this problem.  I can't focus on anything these days! I don't know what is the matter with me. LOL
Anway, on to the reports!

1. Bubblews

I  made 19 posts in September.  Most of them were at the beginning of the month and then a handful at the end so I could get payout once more before the month was out.  I didn't post for almost 3 weeks straight.  And then I caved. I wanted that one more payout before the month was over. LOL.
Earnings: $153.42

2. Adsense

Ohmigod my Adsense sucks!  One of the reasons that I decided to start a new blog. I'm hoping this new blog will get more click throughs or something.
Earnings: $4.56

3. YouTube

It's hard to be exact because the number YouTube gives me and the numbers Adsense gives me and what I actually get are usually a bit different.  I still have 3 channels but only 2 of them are making money. I'm hoping this is close to right because it should be enough to get a check this month!
Earnings (estimated): $5.96

4.  InfoBarrel

IB is not my site.  I mean, it doesn't do well for me.  I know people who do very well at IB but I'm not one of them.  I actually removed some of my content, waited for it to de-index, and put it on my own revenue share site to see if it might do a little bit better.  But, I did get a couple of nice little clicks on IB last month so...
Earnings: $1.93

5. Ebooks

I really need to get my butt in gear and write some more books.  Considering that I could likely write a short book of about 10,000 words in about 3 days I should have loads of them up  here!  I don't know why I don't.  Lack of motivation?  You'd think money would be enough motivation wouldn't you?  Well, as of the end of September I now have 12 ebooks - two under my own name and 10 under a pseudonym.
Earnings: $13.17

6. Amazon

The majority of my Amazon sales come from Squidoo lenses that have  my own links in them. But in August I saw my first (and only) sale from my Amazon store site.  That was nice.  I'd like to see more of that though.  I'm mostly using Pinterest for traffic for that site and a little bit of twitter.  September was not my best month.
Earnings $2.47

7. Squidoo

I'm not earning LOADS with Squidoo but considering how much work and effort I put into it these days, I'm amazed to earn anything.  Every month I seem to get a couple sales and have a handful of lenses in Tier 3 so I make a bit.  September was not my best month, but not my worst.  I've been luckier than most in that I've only had a few lenses locked. And it's better than most other sites I've worked on with a total of $88 and change earned to date.  It was a year ago that I started getting serious about making money on Squidoo.
Earnings: $4.79

8. LOLSpots/MyLikes

My Facebook Page. I have to say that although this is not my biggest earner, it does earn more than other (like IB) and I do almost nothing on this little egg.  I have my Facebook Page set up so everything autoposts.  I use a combination of LOLSpots and MyLikes.  MyLikes takes a bit more work because I need to load up links to BufferApp but I do it when I remember.  LOLSpots is easier because they pretty much do all the work for me. Consider the effort that I put into it I'm ok with what it is earnings.  I have made enough on LOLSpots to get paid out this month - just over $10 and I've been paid out twice (have to have more than $2) in earnings from MyLikes with a total of about $5.  I need to keep better track of these two sites.
Earnings: $4 (estimated because I didn't write down the exact amount for LOLSpots in September and their stats aren't the best)

9. My Writing Site

I'm trying to post on my writing site more often and have been playing around with advertising.  I even tried Chikita and didn't like the ads that showed up.  Now I have Adsense back on there and I'm only using text links.  I find that they are a lot more relevant.  I'll know better next month if it is making a difference.  I do like the new text ad formats.
Oh, and on top of that I made $50 in the form of a text link for Grammarly.  The $50 came in the form of an Amazon gift card, which is fine with me because it will go towards buying presents for my grandbaby for Christmas.  So, I'm counting this. ;)
Earnings (not counting Adsense): $50

My Own Residual Earning Site

I actually have two of them now.  Writedge is the site I run with my friend Michelle.  As I said before, I'm not going to talk about the money on this site but what I will tell you is that the amount of content has seriously increase.  And, some of MY earnings from Adsense is from clicks on my own links to the site.  The other is My Two Cents.  I've basically set this site up so that if I decide not to write at Bubblews at all, I have somewhere to do these short posts.  I'm not heavily promoting it as a rev share site but if you want to come and post you're welcome to be there.  It is adsense based and you can use links to your own Amazon or other affiliate programs.  One link per post.

Income Report - June, 2012

I have to say that June has been fairly good to me.  Things are looking good.  I put in a little more effort on promoting my posts and it has paid off.

If I haven’t mentioned it in the past, my focus is no longer on getting indexed on Google.  I mean, I know it is good but with all the changes that are happening I just believe that as writers and content providers we have very little control over it.  Instead, my focus is on providing good content and sharing it socially.  I think if the quality is there that people will share what you share and that will help with the search engines in the long run.  People also use social media platforms, like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter as search engines and if you ignore that you’re losing out a lot. I think so anyway.  So, I’ve started using hashtags more.

One of the things that I have done is added a Tumblr account.  I mostly share posts that are related to entertainment.  You can follow me here and I’ll follow you back if you’re on Tumblr!  I’ve also started using Pinterest more often and I’m finding that because I’m there more often people are re-pinning my stuff more, too.

Anyway, on to the report!

1. Bubblews

I did great on Bubblews this month!  I cashed out 12 times and earned a total of $339.74.  I made 117 new posts.  So how did I make more?  I think it is the combination of the Tumblr account and more Pinterest activity and the hashtags that have made the biggest difference.  That and more regular use of social media (I was a little sporadic before June).  I made $74.44 MORE with less work.  So, I’m pretty happy with that.

2. Adsense

Adsense is still not where I want it but it is better.  I made $3.37 this month compared to the $2.44 I made last month.  I’m going to contribute that towards the new ads on my main blog.  And posting a little more so getting more traffic.  How did I change the ads?  Well, first, I put a text link ad at the very top of the page.  Thanks to my friend Michelle for that tip!  Why is that good?  Well, the ads are just so much more relevant!  I also changed all the ads on the blog to text ads only – no more graphics – except for the one in the footer.  Again, wow – relevance!  And that is key. If you go to a blog about freelance writing and you get ads about banking, how likely are you to click on them?  Pretty unlikely I’d say.
So, I’m happy to see a little increase and I’m hoping it will continue that way.

3. YouTube

I only put up one new video last month and it is hardly worth counting because it only had 9 views. So, all of my YouTube earnings are completely residual. And I really do love that.  I made $8.73 on YouTube this month compared to the $7.78 I made last month.  Sweet!

4.  InfoBarrel

I didn’t add anything new to InfoBarrel this month but I did make a bit more.  I earned $2.98 compare to $1.99 last month.  Nothing new going on there.  I have decided to pull some of my articles that are doing absolutely nothing on the site (no view hardly at all).  I’m likely going to give them a little re-vamp and put them on  my own site (more about that in a bit).

5. Ebooks

Ebook sales are up this month, too!  I made $8.68, compare to $5.21 from last month.  I also added a new ebook but only one of the 6 sales was the new book.  I’m working on learning more about promoting my ebook and I actually have an advertisement on a writing site this month so I’m curious about how it will do.  I might try a Facebook ad this month later on, too.

6. Amazon

Amazon was my slowpoke in June.  I made $2.51 there this month.  Last month was over $6 so that was king of disappointing.  But that is directly related to the chaos that is Squidoo.  All hell has broken out over there, traffic has dropped substantially, lenses are being locked.  It’s pretty crazy.  So, I’m working on a new plan for making money on Amazon.
Image representing Squidoo as depicted in Crun...

7. Squidoo

As mentioned, all hell has broken loose on Squidoo and my earnings in June (from April) showed that.  I only made $2.47 at Squidoo this month compared to the $15.62 I made last month.  I’m not giving up on them though.  I am just going to work on making the lenses that I have better and if I make a new one it is going to be damn good and worth sharing and it is going to feature products that actually cost something.  I have a bit of thinking to do about this site but I’m not completely done with it.
….and the new site I’ve been promising to tell you about….

8. LOLSpots

Some of you will love this.  Someone has come up with a way to make Facebook profitable.  If  you’re great at creating pages people love with funny content you’re going to want to try this.
LOLSpots is a site that helps you optimize your Facebook page.  Some considerations:
  • you have to have 1000 or more likes on your page
  • this works best for funny stuff, humor, etc.
  • it’s not for everyone
My Facebook Page is All Uncensored Me.  I’d known about this opportunity for some time and I’d been working my butt off to get it to more than 1000 likes so that I could join the LOLSpots program.  I finally got there right at the end of May and was signed up and approved by June 1st.

So, how does this work?  Well, first, it automatically posts content for you.  It takes all the pictures that you’ve posted on your page and puts them on a page on the LOLSpots network.  These pages have ads.  Then it shares your pictures and everyone else’s pictures on your Facebook page with a link. Some of the pictures have little teasers (like something circled) and a title that leads fans in to click.  You get paid per views.
Recently they have added “articles”, which aren’t really articles but instead are collections of funny memes that follow a theme.  Most of them are pretty good.
All of these pictures and memes that automatically get posted on your Facebook page (you can determine how often) can also be posted manually on other Facebook pages you own, on Twitter, on Pinterest, and on Tumblr.  I’m trying to work out a system of sharing these pics/memes that works well.

I didn’t get rich off this site but I did make another $2.45.  Not bad for my first month.
If you have a funny/humor based Facebook Page with more than 1000 likes (or if you’re close and need some help) and want to get in on this send me a message and I will help you get set up!

Update to add...

9. My Writing Site

I almost forgot to add this because I don't usually make any money from this site but my main site actually earned me a nice little chunk of change this month.  I got paid from an affiliate (that I always forget about) and I made one affiliate sale so I made $49 from affiliate sales!

My Own Residual Earning Site

As I mentioned on this blog, I and a friend, started our own residual earning site.  I'm not going to be including stats from that but if you want to know more about the site check it out here.

Grand Total:

$419.93 (up $115.32 from last month)

Income Report - May 2013

As some of you know I’ve been having a bit of a time this month trying to figure out what I want to do online and where I want to put my focus.  It’s been a little wonky.  So, would I say this has been a typical month?  No, not at all.

1. Bubblews

This is where I have been spending the majority of my time.  No matter what some people say, I think this site is going to continue to be a nice little earner.  Since my last cash out of the month on the 28th and up to today, I have only published 5 articles.  I have not been tweeting articles that weren’t freshly published.  And I’m almost ready to cash out again.  So, really, if I could do almost nothing and still make $25 in 5 days that means I should be  making $100-125 a month doing nothing.  I’m tempted to try it.  We’ll see.

Anyway, on to the stats…

I published 143 new articles between the 1st and the 28th of the month.  I cashed out 9 times.  And my total earnings was…

$265.30

When you consider that this was an average of 5 articles a day I think that is pretty good.  And these are not usually long articles.  I’d say that more than ¾ of the articles were less than 10 minutes to write.  More like 5.  They are “interest” pieces.

I’d like to experiment a bit and see what writing some longer keyword pieces can do.  I know at least one person that is having some success with this.

2. Adsense

Adsene – my goodness I had quite the month with them.  It was slow, slow, slow and then all of a sudden I’m getting a bunch of clicks for days in a row and they are big numbers.  Not massive, but big in comparison to the rest of the month.  Honestly, I’m terribly worried that they are going to ban me for click fraud!  I’ve contacted them to let them know it was not me or anyone I know but I don’t know how that is going to go.

Google seems to agree that there’s something weird about that because in my payments I can see that I was only credited with $2.44 for the month.
Sucky huh?
Image representing YouTube as depicted in Crun...

3. YouTube

When it comes to Adsense, the majority of my earnings have always come from YouTube.  I actually added 4 new videos this month.  Not bad.  Better than in the past few months for sure.  They are just vlog videos so nothing spectacular.
According to my Adsense dashboard my earnings are $7.78.

4. InfoBarrel

Since I’ve been concentrating more on Bubblews I haven’t written anything new at IB this month.  I did fix up a few of them that are kind of staggering, but that’s it.
I changed over to the IB earnings program so I have a mixture of Adsense and other earnings here. Again, it was slow though.  Much lower than in previous months.
Combined, my earnings at IB were $1.99 (and yes, I’m really embarrassed about that!)

5. Ebooks

Finally ebooks.  Another slow month.  Seems to be slow all over really.  I had 3 sales for a total of $5.21.  I got my banking info set up so I’ll actually get a payment from Kindle this month.
**June 4: adding content because being the spaz that I am I FORGOT to include two things!

6. Amazon

Since Squidoo has gone all stupid my Amazon earnings have also decreased as that is where the majority of them have come from.  But anyway, with no major addition work to actually try to earn here I made $6.27 with 9 items shipped.

7. Squidoo

I had been trying to give a current month status but that just doesn't work with them so the amount made is what they actually paid me last month.  That means it was earned in March.  I got paid $15.62 last month.

Grand Total

$304.61
Not my best month.  Not my worst.
But I have something new in the works that you all will hear about soon!  It has a lot of potential and I’m really excited about it and I hope you all will be a part of it!
